We did it, yesterday was the BIG day with my panel of work being assessed/judged for my Associateship with the BIPP (British institute of Professional photographer). On entering the room to hear my fate i was told congratulations i had been successful and that my panel was one of the strongest they had seen in some time, i was also informed that they wanted to keep my panel for a few days as they had nominated it for the peter grugeon award which is for the best panel of work at the assesment days, i should find out about this today sometime so keep an eye out.
The Assesors on the day were the best of the best...
Len Dance FBIPP
Kevin Wilson FBIPP
Bella West FBIPP
George Dawber FBIPP
Llewelleyn Robbins FBIPP
Pete Bristo FBIPP
all of the above are at the top of the tree of professional photographers in the UK and probably worldwide and they all had great advise and lots of compliments.
The panel of my work is below the first strip is the order they were in as this also counts towards the overall impression of the work, which can be a little frustrating as some of my best images i had to leave out as they simply didnt fit right within the panel what i mean by this is the panel has to flow from edge to centre on both rows, i did have it looking great but some of the images came back from the printers scratched and as time was short had no time to replace them but lookily i had sent 25 to printers (need 20) just incase i chaged my mind when i saw them in print but this meant i didnt have a choice to which were the final panel entries which made me very nervous as to what the judges would say.

This shot was taken by Pete bristo of me and a few of the judges looking at my work. From left to right, Bella west, Llewelyn Robbins, Yours truly and then George Dawbar the others were being camera shy.

Absolutely stunning work - I think you may have just inspired me to push for my own Associate with the BIPP later this year/next year! The quality of your work is stunning!
(04.22.09 @ 04:23 PM)Congratulations!
Look at that proud smile on your face. You deserve it bud, well done.
(04.22.09 @ 05:26 PM)Congratulations. A truly stunning panel. I remember at my first BIPP meeting (January) being absolutely blown away by the work of two people... Andrew B's and yours. A well deserved associateship.
(04.23.09 @ 08:33 AM)Well done Karl! You deserve admiration, respect and recognition for your work. If I was to summerise my reactions to each of your shots it would go something like this; "WOW! That's a fantastic shot..." Quickly followed by goosebumps! Your work brings out a natural emotion when people see it. You are the ultimate genius behind the lens! Laura
