I cant resist quality gear, those of you that know me already know that, but the latest gear has to be the most exciting yet, the new Nikon D3s is out this weekend and mine should be here on friday, i was quite privledged to be allowed by Nikon to have a play with one around Leicester city centre last week and i have to say it Blew me away with the improvement in image quality, color rendition and all the other tweaks Nikon have given it, i also had the New 70 - 200 f2.8 which again was amazed by the improvements, this lens is now the best in class amongst any camera manufacturer truly awesome with a price tag to match, but the biggest price tag come with my ultimate new toy, the Nikon 200mm F2, ive had this lens on trial and the sharpness, contrast and clarity that this lens offers is amazing and if you can afford one and dont mind the nearly 3kg weight then you gotta get one. Im like i big kid waiting for his new toys, roll on friday!!

the new camera, ignore the lens on this advert picture, it is pants and has gone back ages ago

This lens should come with a health warning, heavy but will make you weep with joy when you see what it can produce, truly awesome...

The 200mm is an awesome beast, you must post some shots as soon as you've had chance to play with it.

I see you are determined to bust your back with some of the heaviest gear on the market. Bless you and your self sacrifice :) I think I shall wait a while to see if Nikon thrown the chip from the D3s in a D700s myself. Of course, I have been carting Metz 60s with lead battery packs around for 15+ years and the last few years, Metz 70s and 76s on a D2Xs. And I needed all the flash I could get on today's winter wedding. Eventually ou bodies will change to that of cubes, like Mr.Strong! Hope you are keeping well Karl.

To spend that much on equipment you must be very successful as a photographer.
This is way out of my price league. It was expensive enough for me just buying my nikon D300 which I think is an excellent camera. In fact i know one nature photographer called Ross Hodinott who uses the same camera as me.

Thanks for checking out the blog Chris, camera gear is stupid money now days, but as a pro if you dont keep up with technology then you get left behind also as a pro we have to keep one step ahead of the amateurs/competition one way of doing that is with specialist equipment that gives a unique look/perspective and is usually out of the price range of the jobbing weekend warrior..

My wife made me sort out the family photos from last year, she said i spend all my time creating wonderful pictures for my clients but none for the family album so i spent a whole day going through them all and here are a few of my favorites "my wife is speaking to me again now".
